Thyroid Conditions

Are Your symptoms thyroid-related?

Fatigue, weight changes, hair loss, mood swings, and irregular periods may all stem from a thyroid imbalance—especially in women after pregnancy or menopause.

Understanding the thyroid

The thyroid is a small gland in your neck that produces two key hormones: T3 and T4. These hormones affect nearly every cell in your body by regulating metabolism and energy levels.

Hypothyroidism (Underactive thyroid)

When your thyroid doesn’t produce enough hormones, you may experience:
  • Fatigue
  • Weight gain
  • Constipation
  • Hair thinning
  • Irregular periods

Common cause: Hashimoto’s disease (an autoimmune disorder).
Blood marker: High TSH levels.

Hyperthyroidism (Overactive Thyroid)

When the thyroid produces too much hormone, you may notice:
  • Rapid heartbeat
  • Weight loss
  • Anxiety
  • Sweating
  • Insomnia

Common cause: Graves’ disease (another autoimmune condition).
Recommended care: See an endocrinologist.

Testing & diagnosis

We check your thyroid health using simple blood tests:
  • TSH, Free T3, Free T4
  • Thyroid antibodies (for Hashimoto’s)
  • Cortisol (adrenal support is key in treatment)
This comprehensive panel allows us to create a customized treatment plan, often involving bioidentical hormone therapy.

Treatment & support

Thyroid conditions are treatable. We may use:
  • T4 replacements like Synthroid®
  • T4/T3 combinations like Armour Thyroid®
  • Targeted supplements: iron, iodine, selenium, zinc, B vitamins, vitamin C

We always start low and go slow with medication for safe, effective results.
