Welcome to our website. I am hoping it is a place where you can find information to use to improve your health. As a Women’s Health Care Nurse Practitioner since 1997, I have had the opportunity to work with thousands of women in their pursuit for total health and wellness. And honestly, I am on that journey myself. As a mother of four children, I am making healthcare choices for myself and my children on a daily basis. So, we are on a journey together.
I started my adventure in Women’s Healthcare in 1990 after the birth of my first child. As a recent college graduate with a biology degree, I was looking for the right way to use my degree and take care of a new baby. I was very close to the childbirth educator and lactation consultant that I met during my pregnancy. With their encouragement, I did the training and testing necessary to become a certified childbirth educator. During my years of teaching, I met a nurse practitioner and thought that would be a good path for me. I went to nursing school and after graduation worked in labor and delivery and newborn nursery; and quickly went back to school for my master’s degree. After graduation, I worked in numerous different settings – a Medicaid clinic, private practice, Kaiser Permanente, then back to a private practice. I have been with Comprehensive Women’s Healthcare since February, 2002.
I have completed my board certification in Anti Aging and Functional Medicine. This was a long, enriching process that allowed me to learn many new things. The Academy of Anti Aging and Functional Medicine has a very good website, www.worldhealth.net.
I have four children that keep me very busy. I enjoy my new organic vegetable garden in the backyard, reading, digital scrapbooking, riding bikes, hiking, and playing outdoors with the kids. We also own an RV, and take several trips a year to explore the many State Parks of Texas.
If you are looking for someone to listen to you, try the testing and treatment options that I have described, and you are looking for a partner in your health and wellness goals, please come and visit me at Comprehensive Women’s Healthcare in Grapevine, TX to take an active role in your healthcare.
